Recent Articles from BRMC NewslettersThank You. We Appreciate Your SupportSince our last newsletter, many people and businesses have taken the time and energy to make significant donations to BRMC. We truly appreciate all that they have done. Broad Run Nursery and Greenhouses donated mulch for the wildflower garden and Chapman cemetery and two pond liners used to create more habitats for salamanders and frogs, which are used during our nature programs for children. Joe Gardner and Alan Heath hauled the mulch to BRMC. Joe also picked up the rugs from Miller Carpets and Alan donated a large aqaurium along with other items. Marty Martin, one of the regions best herpetologists, spent two days with our campers educating them on rattlesnakes and he donated a rattlesnake to be used in an exhibit, Mandy Brooks accompanied Herpetology campers on their hike to High Point, and Norma Mathers provided extra water for the campers on those hot summer days. John and Helen Ellis of Backyard Boutique in Gainesville made a generous monetary donation and posted BRMC information in their store. Tootie Greene donated money to purchase recording equipment to record bird songs at BRMC and Jennie Knight loaned us a microphone to use with the recording equipment. The Spring newsletter was swiftly mailed due to the assistance of Mitzi Price and her children Devin and Sarah. Of course we cannot forget Jessie Barringer who continues to keep our office afloat with her weekly support. In preparation for the fall season, Tim Thompson rotor tilled an area next to the mountain house so we could plant pumpkins and ornamental gourds. The Mountain House received some tender loving care when Andrea Currier and Miller Carpets of Warrenton both donated rugs, Lee Morrison installed a donated ceiling fan and light kit and Sixpenny Chimney Sweeps, serving all of Northern Virginia, inspected and swept our chimney. Thank you.
