Snow

by MJ

A beautiful two inches of snow fell in the night. When I awoke, I looked out onto the big lake, with my eyes wide in both joy and imagination. There is something magical about a snowflake. Maybe it's that each one is unique; like individuals they are all shaped differently.

What made this particular morning so special was the ice that had formed prior to the snow beginning to stick. Glass menagerie in nature is always uplifting. Combine the glitter with fresh white snow and the scene becomes breathtaking.

Each tree holds and represents the beauty in its own special way. Walk around a tree, changing the angle of the sun, and you enter a completely different world. Observe the valleys and compare them to the hills. Walk through the woods, then through the thickets, and end in the fields. I do not think anything emphasizes the clear difference between these habitats as much as snow and ice.

Our human conscience needs such inspiration, for both our growth in awareness and in meaning of life. Life is energy, and a morning like this radiates so dynamically that I visualize a spirit leaving my body and vibrating as a molecule, entering in and out of every object that surrounds me, feeling the vigor of all life's struggles and successes.
